"Eyes Wide Shut" (1999) = NEUROTIC view of the world. This scene shows the "neurotic" explanation/diversion given by Victor Ziegler (Sydney Pollack) to Bill Harford (Tom Cruise) about the events that took place in the strange Ritual scene, the night before, and that was witnessed by them both.
This scene in particular is one of several reasons why the title of this movie was chosen to be Eyes Wide Shut and not something that would normally make sense like Eyes Wide Open. This is most certainly NOT a "normal" movie and Stanley Kubrick was not just any filmmaker! In short, the title Eyes Wide Shut refers to the neurotic interpretation of this movie that Stanley Kubrick knew in advance would be the preferred one among most people, because of the troubling and suggestive nature of the film - but it is also the incorrect one. The movie title in fact describes the mindset of the average viewer and the "escapist" and "overlooking tendencies" they will have when trying to interpret this disturbing film - only proving their mental enslavement and inadequacies. And this is in direct contrast to the uncommon and troublesome - but nevertheless correct interpretation of this movie - which is a TRAUMATIC one. The result and effect of that interpretation - for the viewer - would be the EXACT OPPOSITE of the title of the movie - which would be to set the viewer's eyes wide open - that is, it would lead to mental emancipation.
That is the reason why Stanley Kubrick made this movie in the first place. His final movie and 12 years after his previous one. The point here is that he didn't make this movie and choose this subject matter and include the disturbing scenes that are in it - on a WHIM! Kubrick was well known for being the most meticulous and obsessive director in film making history. And he also used the quote, "Observancy is a dying art".
He most likely made this film to open up the viewer's mind, and eyes, to the possibility and reality of the strange and occult events that it depicts. Particularly the Ritual scene at the masked ball and also another scene describing incest (played by Leelee Sobieski and Rade Sherbedgia) - both of them "traumatic" events. The incest scene also goes completely unexplained to Bill Harford (Tom Cruise) and by extension the viewer and therefore becomes a disturbing memory (for an attentive viewer) even after they have finished watching this film. This is probably why Kubrick cleverly chose the short novel "Dream Story" by Arthur Schnitzler as the official basis of the film. "Dream Story" in original German is actually "TRAUM-novelle". Just like the English word for TRAUMA !
So then, "Eyes Wide Shut" = comforting, incorrect & NEUROTIC interpretation of the film - and in extension: of the world. versus "Eyes Wide Open" = disturbing, accurate & TRAUMATIC interpretation of the film, and of the world - in extension.
This movie also includes several real life events described in the book "Trance Formation of America" written by 'trauma based' mind control victim Cathy O'Brien in 1995. For instance, the only US state mentioned in the film is Michigan and she just happens to be from Muskegon, Michigan as well.
And also, if this movie is just about some simple marriage problems - which most, if not all, mainstream reviewers have claimed - then why the unprecedented secrecy surrounding its filming? That would make no sense.
Another thing: the films 'record' of being the longest movie shoot in history with 400 days, was done deliberately by Kubrick to get some FREE PUBLICITY by being included in the Guinness Book of Records.
This is also the reason for him doing the most number of retakes for a single scene in the movie "The Shining" (1980).
Stanley was a clever man!
Stanley Kubrick also died 66 days into the year 1999 and 666 days before 1 January 2001 - a year he made a movie about, "2001: A Space Odyssey".
Oh by the way, you won't be able to figure out the meaning of this movie until you have stopped using Daylight saving time. (!) Yes, it is really THAT IMPORTANT - plain and simple. Believe it or not. Indeed there are many things in life and society that you won't be able to figure out without stop using DST. I haven't used DST (adjusted my clocks forward from Standard Time) for the past 5-6 years now and I know for a fact that this has given me 'an edge' to uncover all sorts of things about the world and life in general that has gone even some pretty knowledgeable people by.
The movie poster to 'Eyes Wide Shut' is actually an exact reversal of the "message" or theme that can be found on the 'All seeing eye' on the Great Seal of the United States.

while the ENTIRE THEME of the movie Eyes Wide Shut, is the very opposite of that: that is, "Out of one, two" or "Two from one" !
after all, this movie's about separation, marriage problems and drifting apart, isn't it?
Yes, it is. At the very least, it is.
6) the Eagle on the Great Seal is facing left: indicating favor and approval, looking toward the olive branches, that represent peace.
While the woman on the picture is facing right: indicating disfavor and disapproval, as it would-be looking toward the arrows, that represent belligerence.
The left eye on the Eagle is also the Illuminati eye!
while the left eye on the picture, in this case the male's, is totally oblivious of itself and fixated at the woman's mouth: an oral fixation; indicating gullibility and optimism; something that is clearly supported by his behavior in the movie itself.

The name Mandy by the way, comes from Amanda. And Amanda is also the name of the woman at the morgue at 130 minutes. It means "worthy of being loved."
How appropriate: for SHE was the woman that saved his life, by volunteering to 'take his place' at the trial that took place at the secret party, at 87 to 88 minutes, the 6th 13 minute multiple, when she yelled "Stop", "Let him go", "Take me" and "I am ready to redeem him."
For she recognizes HIM at the masked ball, at 77-78 minutes, the 6th 13 minutes multiple, when she chooses him, 'selects' him, by giving him a kiss with their masks on, even though he is fully clothed in an masked outfit - and yet he can not recognize her, although she is fully naked.
This is proven when he asks her at 83 minutes, "Who are you?" and "Let me see your face."
This is also confirmed by Victor Ziegler at 142 minutes, the 11th 13 minute multiple, when he answers Bill's question that, "The woman lying dead in the morgue, was the woman at the party?" To which he replies, "Yes."
And yet, Bill STILL doesn't make the connection that the woman at the party, and the woman in the morgue, IS ALSO the same woman that he first met at Victor Ziegler's Christmas party, in his oversized bathroom - overdosed on drugs.
Victor even taunts him a last time by saying, at 143 minutes, "Come on. It was always gonna be just a matter of time with her.", "Remember, you told her so yourself.", "You remember, the one with the great tits who OD'd in my bathroom?" But he still doesn't get it.
Unbelievable! And this would be a perfect description of the present day movie viewer - and the REVIEWERS too - who have watched this film.
For when was this movie released? Was it 14 years ago. Is that how long?
Does anyone realize now, just how blind we have become, or perhaps always were, to the 'details of reality' - and to that of art, and entertainment, and yes, life itself?
No wonder Stanley said, "Observancy is a dying art".
And no wonder he got whacked for making this film!
This movie will in fact be relevant a thousand years from now; because it describes something that is inherent in human nature: which is, the possibility for mind control. And deception.
He also said that this movie was his "greatest contribution to the art of cinema".

And yet, here they defile themselves again with other men - and women.

This music is so haunting, that this scene would probably still be the creepiest one in movie history - even without any pictures added, ie with the screen entirely blanked out. That's how scary it is.

-and NASA could be interpreted as NAZA or NAZI, because of its affiliation with nazi scientists, in its start-up phase with people like Werner von Braun, from operation Paperclip, that were brought to america after the defeat of the germans in WW2.
notice also, that the 2 red stripes that look like an upside down 'V' could be complemented with another "stripe" at the bottom of it, and then be made to look like a 'Z'. (as in Zorro!) there's even an "open space" (a pun?) left in the diagonal ring, that would make this look seamless. but in the older original logo; it was changed slightly by president Kennedy in 1961; there DOES APPEAR a 'Z', with the ring operating as the lower "stripe" - and even a dot from a "presumptive" letter 'I' beside it. Amazing!
the star constellation on the logo is Andromeda, which is also the location for the closest galaxy to our own Milky Way. and a galaxy is made up of hundreds of millions or even billions of stars.
and finally, the Nazi connection is corroborated again by Kubrick in the movie Dr Strangelove (1964); when the Doctor himself, a former nazi scientist, at the end of the movie, gets up from his wheelchair and says to the president of the United States "Mein Führer, I can walk." and this has been interpreted by some-one (on the internet), that it is a reference that the Nazis have resurrected again, in the USA - like a bird Phoenix, rising from its "ashes". with the "bird" being the "eagle" of the Unted States, its national symbol; and the "ashes" could be the blast from the "explosion" of a nuclear weapon.
And we come full circle.

-and in the second picture, at the lower middle: there is a copyright symbol © below her foot. and this © looks like a half moon shaped letter. this is the "moon under her feet". but wait, this is getting ridiculous, right? well, not when you realize that the LAST WORD that was ever spoken in a Stanley Kubrick movie, was the word 'Fuck', in the movie Eyes Wide Shut ! so, take it for what it's worth. and the foot itself is sort of half moon shaped, too. it is at 26 seconds
-and three, at the lower right hand corner: she, lolita, has a crown of 10 stars on her head, and 1 on her belly. and this would be the "crown of twelve stars on her head". it is at 1 hour 51 minutes
It was also Stanley's 7th movie from the end.
Sue Lyon, in the movie who plays Lolita, is very close to the words Sun and Lion.
The other main actor in the movie is James Mason.
And Masonry could be what this movie is really about.
And Clare Quilty, who is played by Peter Sellers, is only one letter away from Clare Guilty.
Which can be spelled as CLEAR GUILTY. Or clearly guilty.
